Why Use A Mobile Proxy?
Mobile proxies are important for avoiding geo-restrictions, internet privacy, and securing your connection. They are helpful to a business managing several accounts, a person trying to access certain restricted content, or anyone trying to surf the internet privately. Unlike traditional proxies, mobile proxies route traffic through real mobile networks which makes it more difficult for mobile proxies to be blocked. For enhanced security and reliability on browsing an iPhone, setting up a proxy server is one option.
There are various reasons to use a proxy on iPhones, including, maintaining privacy, circumventing geo-blocks, and accessing sensitive content. Depending on whether you want a proxy for security purposes or you want to connect to a certain network, you can follow these straightforward steps to set it up correctly.
Step 1: Access Wi-Fi Settings
- Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap Wi-Fi to select your desired network.
- Tap on the (i) icon for more information on the connected Wi-Fi network.
Step 2: Set Up A Proxy Network
- Go down and locate the HTTP Proxy section.
- Choose between Manual and Automatic depending on what you wish to do.
- Manual: In this case, the proxy server’s IP address and port number provided by your service must be specified.
- Automatic: In this case, the proxy URL must be specified (If PAC file is available).
Step 3: Authenticate Proxy (If Needed) 📌
In case the proxy you intend to use requires authentication:
- Toggle Authentication ON, so as to enable the relevant option.
- Specify the username and password (issued by your proxy service).
Step 4: Save the Changes and Verify the Setup
- From the given options, click on Back to record the changes configured.
- Launch Safari or try any other application to verify whether the proxy is in use.
Bonus Suggestion :
- Check to see if the IP address and port are accurate in the event your proxy stops functioning.
- Restart your internet connection and attempt using another proxy server.
- For enhanced protection and efficiency, use a trusted proxy service.
You can now safely surf the internet on your iPhone using a proxy!
